The Built Environment is a critical resource, and its sustainable development is the only way to protect the heritage of present and future generations.
The advent of new materials, technologies and building techniques creates an opportunity to assess and review the environmental and structural building design and processes, to help develop a new approach that addresses not only the energy efficiency of buildings, but their durability, their safety and affordability over their life cycle.
International workshop
In collaboration with the Ecole de Technologie Supérieure (ETS) and the Italian research center AMRA*, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada organizes the "Managing the Built Environment for Present and Future Generations" workshop.
This international workshop addresses the stakeholders from Quebec, North America and Italy, and offers them a forum to share their views and plans for the sustainable built environment practices, technologies and engineering.
The workshop will be divided in several work sessions, each one focusing on a specific topic. Each session will open with a presentation from an international keynote speaker, to be followed by a discussion where all participants will be invited to express themselves on the topic being addressed.
*AMRA is a Naples-based research center for the development of innovative technologies applied to environmental problems, affiliated with the city's universities, institutions and research facilities.
